You may not of heard, but Google has launched a beta version of their frequently used Keyword Research Tool.
The old version was great for researching the best keywords for the highest amount of traffic with the least amount of competition. But there were some drawbacks, especially for local searches.
If you wanted to use the old keyword tool for local search, you either have to live in a high population area or filter through 200 keywords looking for your city in the keyword.
Well Google recognized the problem and implemented a new version that is more friendly to local searches.
New features include, mobile searches, advanced filters, categories selections, multiple match types and my personal favorite; the contains check box.
Now instead of looking through the results for your city, you can just click the check box to show keywords containing your city.
Easy right?
I really like the new beta version. It also allows you to see broad, exact and phrase searches in the same results!
How cool is that...
